Partners with Trimble to Extend GIS/GPS Business Applications to the Field Marshall
Integrates GeoResults Mobile with Trimble's Mapping and GIS Technology
Olympia,
WA - July 15, 2005 - Marshall and Associates, Inc.,
today announced a business partner agreement with Trimble enabling integration
of GeoResults Mobile for ArcGIS software with Trimble's GPS technology,
including the GeoExplorer® series of rugged GPS handheld receivers, the GPS
Pathfinder® systems, and the new GPS Pathfinder ProXH receiver. The
result is a wireless-capable, smart client, GIS/GPS field data application for
mobile field workers. GeoResults Mobile is powered by Microsoft® .NET and
ESRI ArcGIS Engine. It is an ideal solution for organizations and agencies that
need to access and update maps and associated enterprise data in the field.
The
combination of Marshall and Trimble technologies offers organizations the ability
to extend their enterprise to the field to automate their mobile field business
processes. Interoperability between Trimble and ESRI technologies allows mobile
users to validate their GIS data and associated corporate data, resulting in significant
gains in field crew productivity. With Marshall's GeoResults Mobile, enabled
with Trimble GPS, field crews can bring their GIS and other corporate data to
the field for asset condition updates, maintenance, field data collection, redlining,
work management, and similar tasks. Once completed, fieldwork results are automatically
updated and posted back to the server via a wireless network, or when the mobile
device is docked. This process ensures accurate and timely information updates
are posted and shared throughout the corporate environment.
Martin County,
Florida's Public Works Department is one of the early adopters of GeoResults Mobile.
GeoResults Mobile "enhances the capabilities of our existing Hansen and ESRI
applications
(and) enables us to process inspections, work orders, and service
requests in the field, real-time," said Kimberly M. Roden, County Operations
Manager.
