Summary:
The GIS Project Manager position is suited for an individual who possesses:
-
Project management skills -
closes projects on time, within budget.

Outward facing" client
liaison skills - maintains satisfied clients.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage projects through their lifetime and beyond
- Perform business process analysis and/or needs
analysis for clients
- Carry out business development, primarily with
existing clients and partners
- Manage client and partner relationships
- Develop written documents including scopes of work,
requirements, budget, etc.
- Work with clients on initial design and specifications,
define business and functional requirements, and provide final deliverables.

5+ years experience in the GIS
industry, or with related geospatial technologies

Proven leadership and experience
in project management, client and employee relations, strategic
planning, and budgeting

Excellent communication skills
-
Experience in report writing, making
formal presentations, and acting as a client liaison

Collaborative teaming and consensus-building
abilities
-
Willing and able to travel regularly
(up to 30% to 40% of time)
-
Proficient use of MS Project, Visio,
and all MS Office applications
-
Experience with ESRI suite including
ArcGIS 9, ArcInfo, ArcEditor, ArcView, ArcIMS and ArcSDE
-
Minimum 3 years experience as Project
Manager for projects involving one or more of the following (listed
in order of priority)

Web mapping interface using
HTML, DHTML, XML and/or JavaScript

Development projects using
ASP, JSP, VB, C++ and/or JAVA
-
Database design including UML
-
Database development (SQL,
Oracle and/or Access)
-
Geodatabase design, versioning,
classes, relationship, domains, subtypes
-
C# programming experience highly
desired, VB.NET experience also desired. Scripting such as Python
a plus
-
Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
-
Database querying and updating,
particularly using the .NET data providers
-
Test driven development including
automated testing and unit testing
-
Source control repositories
such as Microsoft Visual SourceSafe
-
Web development with ASP.NET,
JavaScript, HTML. JSP and Java a plus.

GIS principles; experience
with ESRI's suite of software, including ArcObjects a plus
-
Experience with daily build
processes, including scripting with NANT a plus
-
Experience building installation
packages with Visual Studio, WIX, InstallShield, etc., a plus
Desirable Qualifications:

Knowledge of consulting as
well as public-sector organizations strongly preferred.

Background in developing partner
engagement strategies and programs
